SHARP - A Night of Political Comedy

Headliner: Chris Chopping
Chris’s dry outlook and hilarious punchlines have established him as a fixture of professional comedy nights. He’s taken seven shows (including three solo hours) to the Edinburgh Festival where his strong material and deadpan persona have garnered him a cult following.

“Really quick, really f**king funny”-Fern Brady
“Hilarious”-Paul Sinha
“An absolute treat”-Larry Dean

Craig McLeod: Scottish ex-wrestler who traded the punches for punchlines. Craig is an engaging, quick-witted comedian with a fresh charisma and charm thats easy to listen to.

Bath New Act Finalist

Eloise Dale: Unapologetically herself, Devon’s favourite odd-jobber Eloise Dale is fiery, fresh, and really funny.

Beat the Frog gong show winner

Bath New Act Finalist

Molly Wisteria: Molly’s surreal and silly comedy prompts audiences to laugh long before they realise they’ve been indoctrinated with the woke mind virus.

“Molly weaves queer experience and sharp social commentary into something genuinely moving. The kind of comedy that stays with you”-Tee,The Wokerati Party

Oli Cordova: Diva, icon, fashionista. A local favourite, Oli Cordova is one of the South West’s brightest up-and-comers.

“Oli is the smooth radio of comedy. With each successive joke, the pay off and laughs build and build”-People’s Comedy

Cornish Comedian of the Year Runner Up

Sally Claire (she/they): performer, writer, poet, MC, and woke lefty gobshite. Beloved host of Plymouth cabaret night FILTH. Expect terrible poems about awful things, as she explores the highs and lows of being a peri-menopausal stripper doing the school run.

Sean Phelan: Gen Z Uncle and chaotic entity, he’s a rising star with a trademark blend of whimsy and nihilism. Razor-sharp punchlines and likeable stage presence that sets out to inform, entertain and traumatise.

“So You Think Your Funny” Semi-Finalist

Shortlisted Disabled Comedian of the Year

Jeanie Vowles: No longer content with arguing online, she’s ready to bring her angst into the real world. Audacious and eccentric.

Queer Performance Night

Queer Performance Night

🕺Our monthly performance nights are back up and running baby!! Now hosted at @sapphos_plymouth Cafe and Community Space!! ✨

Little edit: due to space restraints, we can’t accommodate artists that may require a lot of movement. If you’ve already applied, we will get in touch. If you’re thinking about applying (mostly drag and burlesque acts) then please consider if you can do your act in a very small stage space!

And we’re looking for queer singers, poets, musicians, comedians, acts and/or other multi talented folk to perform at our events 🎤

We’re excited to switch up to a sober and more central venue and look forward to meeting new faces! Though as the performance floor space will be smaller (and flatter!) than our previous stage, we recommend going for less bouncy acts (or improvising slightly and adapting to the new space)

Check out the links in our bio to sign up to perform or to book your tickets - seats are limited, attendance is FREE but we appreciate any donations that you can spare! All money goes directly towards supporting our Gender Affirming Care fund 💜

These events are made possible thanks to National Lottery Funding! 🤞 💕
